About Us

Friends of Union Station is an independent, grassroots, citizen-initiated, non-profit organization founded in February 2005. Dedicated to the historic preservation and functional excellence of Union Station, we believe the future of Union Station and the site on which it stands is one of the most important projects for Denver in the 21st century. Union Station is the past and future heart and soul of the region!

Planning efforts associated with the redevelopment of Union Station have been underway for the better part of the past decade, and full implementation of the approved plans will likely extend for another five to eight years. The organizers and members of the Friends of Union Station believe that it is critically important that the Union Station project is implemented with unwavering standards of excellence in the most sensitive, expedient and effective manner possible.

Over the coming years, as public entity staff and representatives change, political administrations come and go, new players are added to the project, and priorities of interested parties evolve, Friends of Union Station will remain involved in the public  process and vigilant that the goals and principles of the Master Plan are adhered to.

Friends of Union Station has a board currently comprised of twelve members and an extended support group of friends that share our concern for the future of Union Station. Beyond that we have reached out to a wider sphere of citizens interested in having a voice in the Union Station development. If you would like to join Friends of Union Station, please view our Membership page.
